Folly Beach Exchange Club Gives Back

Here is a list of donations to the community:

Youth-Student Scholarships
Each year the club gives away several partial school scholarships to local students or grandchildren of members and children of residents.

Community Service
Late Summer brings the club to collect school supplies for needy children. Backpacks, pens, pencils, paper, etc. are collected at city hall , the library and Planet Follywood.

The club also does a cook-out for family fun night, host a Golden Age Dinner for senior widows and widowers, does a Veteran Supply Drive, First Responder Awards Dinner, Public Works Awards Luncheon, provide land for the Garden Club and many other community service projects. One new one is putting together youth on the island to clean up seniors’ yards.

Americanism
When you drive across the bridge or wall on the pier sometimes, you’ll see flags proudly waving. These are placed by the club to honor our active military, retired military and all those who serve in the Armed Forces. Memorial Day, Veterans Day, Fourth of July and other special days you will see old glory fly. Also, for Americanism, the club supplies city hall with full sized flags to give to kids who do the national anthem before a council meeting.

Fundraising
Various fundraising events include cooking hamburgers and hotdogs during street events, yard sales, our Annual Golf Tournament and Volley on Folly our annual Pickleball Tournament.

Charity and Donations-Several children, seniors, veterans, students, first responders, cancer victims, abused children, poor children and several others benefit from our fundraisers. Some of these include, Save the Light, Warrior Surf Foundation, Drew Wynne Foundation, HALOS, Folly Angels, Coastal Family Vacations, Surfers Healing, and Folly Beach Baptist Church.
