In 1979, the prevention of child abuse was designated as Exchange’s National Project, marking the beginning of our ongoing commitment to this critical issue. Since then, we have worked tirelessly to not only raise awareness but also actively prevent child abuse. Our members are involved in prevention initiatives nationwide, implemented through Exchange Clubs and Exchange Club Centers for the Prevention of Child Abuse. Using the evidence-based Exchange Parent Aide home visitation model, child abuse prevention specialists collaborate directly with at-risk families to foster meaningful change.
Our dedication to preventing child abuse has earned us the Presidential Award from the White House Office of Private Sector Initiatives. We are also proud to be a charter member of The National Child Abuse Coalition and a Partner in Prevention with the Children’s Bureau, Administration for Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
